Greg Rossel took off the lines and made the drawings. Woodenboat School in Brooklin, ME http://www.thewoodenboatschool.com/ offered a building course for a couple of years. Janie and I took the course from Greg and built this boat. It was displayed at the Woodenboat Show in Rockland, Me in July, 2003. She rows very well, and is very stable. An excellent boat for most any purpose, one that would be great for the grandkids' first boat. GYPSY is a John Hartsock designed Cosine Wherry with lots of variations. The first; Cove and Bead construction. I milled my own lumber from Atlantic Cedar. No staple holes anywhere. The 3/8" knife edge stem blends into 1/2" about 6" into the keel. Note the Cherry seat posts, quarter knees, wale spacers, breasthook and thwart edges. Thwart knees are laminated ash. Watertight compartments are installed fore and aft for extra flotation. The shear has been goosed a bit and the thwarts follow the shear. She glides across the water!
